Chronic Hypoxia

Chronic Hypoxia, what does it even mean?

The word Hypoxia refers to a condition wherein the body or a region of the body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply. In a medical context it is often applied to low oxygen conditions caused by lung disease, diving accidents, or similar traumas to the pulmonary system.

Another route to this condition is via tension-based chronic hypoxia (TBCH), in which areas of the body are starved of oxygen due to tension produced as a response to stress and negative emotions. This tension is represented as involuntary muscular contraction that restricts blood flow and oxygenation.

TBCH is an appropriate description for the situation in which a portion of the body is weakened, sometimes to the point of failure, by an ongoing insufficient supply of oxygen. The target area of the body under tension still has enough oxygen to operate, but poorly. In this degraded state the affected muscles are pushed to a state of frailty, and spasming, by even the simplest physical demands, such as bending over to pick up a box or sitting in a chair. These failures are sometimes described as ‘throwing your back out’. This is the phrase I used at the time when I experienced debilitating attacks of acute pain, which rendered me unable to sit or stand.

TBCH can have serious and far reaching consequences on the health of the sufferer. Every tissue in the body requires adequate blood flow to be able to regenerate, and replace cells as necessary for optimal health. Any system of the body that is in a state of hypoxia will be slow to heal, may never heal fully, or may become necrotic if there is insufficient oxygen supply to maintain viability.

As a person who suffered from tension-based chronic hypoxia in many regions of the back and legs for decades; my experience made it abundantly clear that TBCH can wreak havoc on the body.

Do you have chronic low-back pain, neck pain or sciatica? Are these chronic conditions accompanied by joint pains that don’t ever seem to resolve for months or years, no matter what you try?

I found that TBCH was the fundamental underlying cause for all of my musculoskeletal pain. I created a method for myself that completely cured my chronic pain, and I am enjoying my second pain free year.

I hope for the best to all who suffer from chronic pain, so they will find resolution, and peace.
